Hi, I am Jim (Jimbo) Conant a US Coast Guard licensed & fully Insured Charter Captain and Florida fishing Guide. Let me be your fishing guide while you're here in Paradise.
I am an Avid Sportsmen originally from Kansas City, Missouri. I grew up fishing for Large-mouth Bass, Catfish, & Crappie and hunting white tail. As a retired Army Soldier I've been stationed throughout the U.S and Europe with several deployments in the sand box and retiring in 2010 after 22 years of service. I always took pride in mastering fishing & hunting techniques from all the different places. From catching salmon and trout to hunting mule deer and Elk in the mountains of Colorado. Fishing for Stripers, croakers, and blue cats to hunting goose, ducks and turkey in Virginia and North Carolina. I am self-taught in all my outdoor adventures and always rivaled the local hunting and fishing guides with knowledge and skills gained thru friends and my own accord. I'm kind of like Tred Barta if you know who he is.
In 2011 I moved to Cape Coral, Florida with wife and kids strictly because of the fishing reports. Since then I fish 3-5 times a week learning the waters and the fish and how to target each species. I started Chartering to make up for the costs of hundreds of hours of non-paid trips helping disabled veterans in my community while I continue to hone my skills. I fish and guide on average 300 days per year whether guiding or fishing with Disable Veterans and friends or vacationers to lovely Florida. I truly enjoy taking new people fishing, especially the ones that haven’t fished before. The smiles and awestruck looks as they fight to reel in a bull Redfish or feel and hear the line being ripped from their reel as a Snook or Jack Crevalle takes off is almost enough to pay for the trip itself. Listening to grown men scream as they fight a Goliath grouper or large shark and then turn to moments of triumph and admiration once they've defeated their prey. Some fisherman believe they can put their bait on a dime when casting have never tried casting up under mangrove trees from 50 yards for some fish that make Large mouth bass seem like a crappie.
I am your personal fishing guide or nature guide while you're here in Paradise.
With Jimbo's fishing charters catching fish and having fun is all that matters.
2017 Nauticstar 2400 Sport, with a Yamaha 250 SHO, twin power poles, Simrad Electronics, 36V Minnkota riptide with spotlock, Seadek cushioned throughout the boat for long days on the water, a 24 foot boat with plenty of room.
You'll be fishing on the cleanest and well kept boat around. Maybe a little dirty if your my second trip of the day. The seadek is a soft foam cushion and nonslip. Seats and cushions have already been reupholstered this year to keep that new look.
My inshore light tackle is all Penn Spinfisher VI andV models. Medium tackle is Penn Battle 5500-6500 rod reel combos. I use Fins braided fishing line with Seaguar fluorocarbon leaders attached to Owner Hooks.
